Bluestreak Technology Platform Delivers Open Flash-based User Experiences

Delivers to Java and Android Mobile Devices

Bluestreak Technology on Tuesday announced that the company’s MachBlue platform has expanded its device support to include new Java and Android powered mobile devices. As a result of this development, companies can now use MachBlue to deploy custom Adobe® Flash-based user interfaces, applications, and web services across the majority of mobile devices in the market today including phones running the Android, Blackberry, Brew, Java, Linux, Symbian, and Windows Mobile operating systems.

“One of the largest consumer complaints about the iPhone is its lack of Flash support,” said Julien Blin, JBB Research Principal Analyst and CEO. “Over 90% of consumers with Internet enabled computers access Flash. These consumers have come to expect the same graphically rich Flash-based experiences they enjoy on their computers to also be available on their mobile phones, regardless of device type. Bluestreak Technology’s support for new Java and Android devices benefits mobile operators, content companies, and developers who want to write visually appealing Flash powered applications once and then deploy them across the majority of mobile devices currently in market.”

“The recent success of phones like the Droid and the Nexus One has made Android one of the most popular new development platforms for mobile applications and demand is growing significantly. By expanding our addressable market base through support for new Android and Java devices, we offer our customers a way to use the power of Flash technology to differentiate their applications from the thousands that are currently available in market,” said Dominique Jodoin, Bluestreak Technology CEO and President. “This MachBlue Java release sets new industry standards for fluidity of animations, processing speed, and efficient use of memory. It is the solution for deploying graphically rich Flash-based experiences on a wide variety of resource constrained mobile devices.”

The Java 2.0 edition of the MachBlue platform is being built using the Java MIDP 2.0 specification and is modular enough to support installations across Android, J2ME, J2SE, and RIM powered devices. This new Java release is significantly faster than the previous version and has improved runtime memory management for a more optimal and consistent level of performance. It also offers superior 3-D images and animation, including support for gradients, image scaling, full rotation, and vector graphics, and is compliant with ActionScript 2.0 and Flash 6.0. The edition also comes packaged with MachBlue Studio™, Bluestreak Technology’s award-winning application development kit. This release makes MachBlue the only platform that enables companies to easily customize their Flash experiences and deploy them across all Java mobile devices.
